Start! Walking with Leslie Sansone 1 & 2 Mile Walk
As an overweight person, any form of exercise that requires too much is risky. Furthermore, they are often so hard for beginners that you'll quit doing them within a few days. But with this DVD for obese beginners, you'll find a lot of enjoyment in losing weight as this workout DVD makes it so easy.
The creator of this DVD, Leslie Sansone, has done a great job putting together a very simple way that will allow you to walk up to 2 miles in the comfort of your home. Moreover, you don't need to own a treadmill, and you'll be able to get in a mile a day. Just make sure you are well equipped with a good pair of walking shoes for overweight people.
I know you might be thinking that walking isn't a great option for an obese beginner but trust me, you'll love following along with this DVD.
Debby Mack - Plus Size Workouts: Back 2 Basics Cardio Workout
This DVD from Debby Mack is built for the plus-sized among us by a plus-size person. It is very easy to follow along with as it doesn't require you to have as much stamina as others. I think it's a great option for beginners as it starts slowly and builds into higher energy movements. Initially, you won't feel the burn, but you'll see that it does let you work up a sweat by the end of the workout.
Plus, I'm sure you'd rather see a plus-sized person doing the same workouts than having a skinny instructor telling you what to do.
Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred
The 30 Day Shred workout DVD for obese beginners is from one of the more popular fitness instructors. And while she's not an obese or plus-sized person, these workouts are very simple to do that any overweight person can do them. They are all 20-minute workouts that start with a simple warmup and lead into the workout. By the end, you'll have done a good cardio workout that is sure to burn a good deal of fat.
Dance That Walk - Total Body Circuit 2
This exercise DVD for obese features a good deal of low-impact workouts that you can do at home. The workouts target your upper body, abs, and lower body. Plus, they all start with a simple warmup routine that makes it great for beginners to get into.
The first workout lasts 67 minutes and targets the entire body, while the other two lasts 35 minutes each and target either the upper body or lower body. Moreover, there is also a bonus program that targets your abs alone.
I found that starting with either circuit 2 or 3 is a little easier for beginners to get into it. With that said, the entire workout is easy to do, so you can do any workout you choose.
Biggest Loser: Weight Loss Yoga
If you want to get started with yoga, this one is a great option to start from as it is pretty easy to follow. The workouts start you off very slowly, allowing you to get into the rhythm with all the stretches. Moreover, once you get through the entire thing, the resulting workout will feel amazing.
HeavyWeight Yoga: Yoga for the Body You Have Today
This one is the one I think is the best yoga DVD for overweight beginners. It is created by Abby Lentz and features her modifications on some moves that would normally seem impossible for overweight people to follow. Furthermore, the instructor is an overweight woman too, so you'll feel motivated to see her doing it than anyone else.
With this yoga workout DVD, you'll quickly get into yoga and experience the life-changing results that practicing yoga can offer.
Final Thoughts
As a beginner to losing weight, your goal is always to start and stay consistent. Don't rush into these workouts, thinking you'll lose all the weight in a few days. These workouts are only a small part of everything you'll need to do to shred a good portion of your bodyweight.
And it'll take you a few months to do it all together. You always have to remember that it didn't take you six months to become obese, so it shouldn't take less than that to lose all the weight. However, if you follow through and be consistent with the best workout DVD for obese beginners, you will start the process in the easiest way possible.
You can also look into getting yourself other equipment like a heavy duty treadmill.
